Feel it and change it when it feels heavy and thick. Monitor how much use the vaccum gets if possible to time vacuum intake and bag change.
when it quits picking up
When it’s half full, much more than that and you lose suction.
Open your vacumn cleaner and look on the bag. there should be a FILL line on the bag. When the dirt inside the bag hits that Line, Change it.
when it doesn`t suck up all the dirt from your carpet.
From a cleaner sight the home vaccum cleaners need new bags more then commerical. The bags fill with dust and dirt as soon as you use it, these particles fill the mirco holes in the bag, the more you use it the more the holes fill so generally change the bag when half full to get the best efficient use of the vaccum and bag usage.
most vacs in uk have indicatetors to tell you how full the bags are i always change ours once a month as continue Use FULL * DAMAGE*
